England Team Faces Controversy

The England National team has been thrown into the world soccer spotlight after news broke of the John Terry scandal.

Current team captain Terry has been publicly disgraced by reports that he cheated on his wife with England teammate Wayne Bridges ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, French underwear model Vanessa Perroncel. Terry and Bridge were former best friends who had enjoyed some of their best years playing together at Chelsea of the English Premier League.

Terry is now facing a very realistic possibility that he could be dropped from the England squad if there is significant backlash from other players. Bridge who is also a England team regular is reported to be thinking of quitting the national team because he can’t stand to look at Terry, let alone play on the same field as him.

The story was originally blocked by a super-injunction imposed by a High Court judge preventing the media reporting on the issue in early January 2010. Things exploded a short time later when the injunction was lifted at the end of January.
