Newest MLS Team's Uniform Unveiled

Philadelphia Union Jerseys for Team's Inaugural Season Released

The newest team to join Major League Soccer, the Philadelphia Union has given the world it's first look at the jerseys they will be wearing during the 2010/11 season. Based in the Philadelphia suburb of Chester, the Philadelphia Union are a product of an effort by the "Sons of Ben" soccer supporter group who petitioned the MLS for an expansion team in the Philadelphia area. The Philadelphia Union was officially added as MLS' sixteenth team on February 28, 2008. The name "Union" was choosen for the franchise due to Philadelphia historical importance in the Union of the Thirteen Colonies.

The new adidas home jersey for the Philadelphia Union is midnight blue with a gold front panel on the front center which holds the club badge. The soccer jersey is accented by gold adidas stripes on the sleeves as well as light blue piping which ties in the light blue of the Philadelphia flag. In a tribute to Philadelphia history, the back of the collar reads "Jungite Aut Perite", latin for Benjamin Franklin's rallying cry for colonial unity, "Join or Die".

Fantastic, this is another city making the step to the MLS and the more the better. The more awarness brought to the game here in the US is only positive outcome. If cities are continuing to build franchises, then the survival of the league must be more secure than ever. Therefore the MLS is gaining in experience and in level of play, and for Americans that is a step in the right direction. Hopefully after we see the MLS solidify itself, then we will see the consistancy in our National Team. It would be wonderful to see these MLS teams build a developmental aspect to there clubs, I know its tough right now but once the ball gets rollin that is where long term success lies. Re-think the name Philly! don’t know about it

The Jersey is okay, but have I got a treat for you. I just saw the NEW and EXCLUSIVE Nike DTOM Talaria. Don’t Tread On Me Talaria is the best shoe I’ve seen this year by far. You can’t find pics of this shoe anywear, but I have one!! Does anyone know where I can get this shoe? Will Soccer Fanatic be carrying it?
